Release note, 18 October 2026
The standard now says that it is reviewed every week and changed only when necessary
Two changes were made to the draft text of the Transformation Capability Management standard on 18 October 2026. Transformation capability management is the practice of treating an organisation's ability to change as something it holds, measures and governs.
The weekly-release block is reworded, and the version line moves to 18 October
The block's heading read "The standard is updated every week". It now reads "The standard is reviewed every week". The block's opening sentence said that a change to the text was published and explained in the note. It now says that a change is made, documented and versioned "only when it is necessary". Two sentences follow it: "Weekly commentary stays in the note." and "A formal revision is a new dated version of the standard." The rest of the block is unchanged. The version line reads "v1.0, 18 October 2026", where it read "v1.0, 13 October 2026".
A standard that changes every week gives a reader nothing fixed to rely on
The standard is watched every week, because its subject moves. That does not mean that its text should move every week. A change is made when it is needed, so that each version stays stable. A weekly note still explains the week, and a week with no change still gets one. A formal revision is a new dated version.
The change rests on a decision about how the standard is kept, and adds no finding
It adds no finding and cites no study. It changes how the standard describes its own upkeep. It does not change what the standard says about any practice.
It touches the standard's statement of how it is maintained, and no principle or domain
The 10 principles and 6 domains stay as they were. No definition changed.
The case for the standard, on the home page, also changed on 18 October 2026. The case is not part of the standard's text.
This note is dated 18 October 2026. It belongs to v1.0, 18 October 2026.
The standard's current custodian is BusinessGPS, the trading name of TechShifts Media Limited, which wrote the first draft. The aim is a committee with chairs drawn from outside BusinessGPS.
