Release note, 12 October 2026
One draft claim is withdrawn, and 6 statements of evidence are corrected
The draft text of the Transformation Capability Management standard changed this week. Transformation capability management is the practice of treating an organisation's ability to change as something it holds, measures and governs.
The draft no longer says other disciplines were all designed for bounded change
The draft reason under principle 8 said the established disciplines "are designed for episodic, bounded change". It now reads: "Project standards were designed for bounded work with an end date." The unreleased section comparing the standard with other bodies of knowledge is narrowed to match.
The draft reason under principle 3 no longer names artificial intelligence, because the standard covers change of any kind. In parts not yet released, 6 statements of evidence now say only what their sources say, and other changes were made.
Established bodies now recognise continuous change
The Project Management Institute said so in a research release of 12 May 2026. The Change Management Institute says so on a page with no date, read on 29 September 2026. So the wider claim is withdrawn.
The evidence is a source check, with limits
Each correction to evidence rests on a source opened on 7 or 11 October 2026. Some full texts were not read.
Two of the changes reach a principle, in its draft reason only
They are principles 3 and 8, and that is marked here. On the standard's page both reasons already read as corrected. The 10 principles and 6 domains stay as they were.
This note is dated 12 October 2026. It belongs to v1.0, 13 October 2026.
The standard's current custodian is BusinessGPS, the trading name of TechShifts Media Limited, which wrote the first draft. The aim is a committee with chairs drawn from outside BusinessGPS.
